That’s right, the 2004 High school football season starts tonight with games all the way through Saturday night.

The wait is over. The time is here. Here’s to all the hard work put in by the players, coaches, administrations, cheerleaders, marching bands and officials. The hard work will finally pay off beginning tonight all across the state. We have picked the top game we would like to see in each geographical area of the state and the other most interesting games we see for week one.

So here we go! Enjoy football fans.

East Tennessee. 6A Ravenwood at 6A Alcoa (Well they should be 6A)– Looking to see major college prospects on the field? Just head to Alcoa Friday night. They will numerous and exciting to watch. While Ravenwood is favored in their tough region this year Alcoa just doesn’t lose at home. We pick the Tornados, 31-26.

Other games we would love to see in East Tennessee. Farragut at Dobyns Bennett; Powell at Anderson County; Tyner at Red Bank.

Middle Tennessee. Pearl Cohn at MBA– Two Powerhouses collide in Nashville. Can Pearl Cohn repeat their 15-0 season from last year? Can MBA rebound from their slightly down season in 2023 with a new highly touted quarterback? We say The Firebirds have just too much firepower. Pearl Cohn 27. MBA 24.

Other games we would love to see in Middle Tennessee. Blackman at Brentwood; Brentwood Academy at CPA; Upperman at Fayetteville; Gordonsville at Smith County; Portland at White House.

West Tennessee- Speaking of powerhouses, McKinzie and Huntingdon definitely fit the bill. The lights will be out in downtown Huntingdon Friday night as the entire town will show up for the game. We will take the visitors in this game 24-20.

Other games we would like to see this week in West Tennessee. MUS at Arlington; Briarcrest at Houston; Mase at Lausanne; White Station at Christian Brothers.
