Middle Tennessee teams came into The BlueCross Bowl with high expectations with 11 out of 18 spots in the championship spots filled from their schools. Bit a funny thing happened on the way to the forum, or to the Gold Ball presentation this week in Chattanooga; The East Tennessee teams kicked some serious tail.

East Tennessee only put five teams in the finals but won every game. That’s right every game! Hail to the Victors as they put on quite a performance. Congratulations to the following East Tennessee winners:

Division ll

Class 3A: Baylor over MBA 38-34

Division i:

Class 2A Tyner over Riverside 26-24

Class 3A Alcoa over Nashville East 45-26

Class 4A Anderson Co over Pearl Cohn 34-30

Class 5A Knoxville West over Page 17-13

Middle Tennessee was in seven finals and won three:

Division ll

Class A Friendship Christian over Nashville Christian 34-27

Class AA Lipscomb over CPA 42-0

Division l

Class 6A Oakland over Beech 42-0

West Tennessee only had two participating schools and one winner when McKenzie finished up a remarkable year by beating Clay County 34-14.
