Elizabethton vs Tullahoma

The 4A State Championship Title was on the line in Chattanooga Saturday. Elizabethton was looking for their 4th State Championship while Tullahoma was looking for their first Gold ball in 100 years of playing football.  Both teams came out to start the game off by running the ball and neither team had much success doing that.  Tullahoma scored late in the first quarter to take the lead.  Halfway through the second quarter Elizabethton scored their first touchdown to tie the game up.  Neither team was able to get in the in zone or kick a field goal in the second half.  The score was tied at the end of regulation.

In overtime Elizabethton wins the coin toss and elects to have the ball first. On their first possession the Cyclones Quarterback Bryson Collins ran the ball in from a yard out on the second play to take their first lead of the game.  It’s the wildcats turn and from 10 yards out Keishawn Cummings runs the ball into the in zone to tie the game up.

Tullahoma gets the ball to start the second overtime and on the second play Ryan Scott throws to Jacob Dixon for the five-yard touchdown and the Wildcats take the lead 21-14.  The Cyclones get the ball back and on the first play Bryson Rollins throws to the back of the in zone and it gets intercepted by Krys Uselton.  He is the hero and secures Tullahoma’s first football title in school history.

Tullahoma’s Quarterback Ryan Scott said,’ We have a great team and strong team, a great community that came out here and showed some love and that helped us. Scott was the MVP for this game, going 12/16 passing for 124 yards and a touchdown and he carried the ball 16 times for 88 yards and a score.
