This was an old fashioned, smash-mouth football game. With heavy rains and strong winds both teams committed to running the football and playing tough defense as DCA won the Region championship with a 7-3 win.
DCA ran the ball into the end zone in the first quarter from the one-yard line and in the third quarter, NCS kicked a field goal from 27 yard to complete the scoring. There were five turnovers in the game as, the defenses on both teams showed up big
The bright star for DCA was Ashton Jones who had 26 carries for 108 yards and one touchdown. Jones said,” we got to stay focused, we can’t look ahead, we never look ahead but it’s something we absolutely cannot do. We aren’t even looking at who we are playing next, we are going to pay attention to it next week. Were going o focus on practice Monday through Thursday next week. We have a bye week so we’ll enjoy it and then we got to get straight back to work and watch film tonight. We learn what to do better and then get right to it next week.”
DCA remains undefeated in this region (5-0) as they have a bye week next week before the playoffs and NCS gets handed their first region loss (4-1) and they also will have a bye week before the playoffs begin.
