Green Hills vs. Station Camp

Both teams came into this game undefeated with the Region 5- 5A title on the line. Green Hill came out strong in the first quarter driving downfield and coming out with a field goal. Station Camp just couldn’t get anything going and the Hawks just never allowed their offense to threatened to score as Green Hill scored on four consecutive drives to take a 20-0 lead into halftime.

Station Camp received the ball in the second half and ended up punting the ball deep into Hawks territory. It didn’t matter to the Hawks as two plays later they called a reverse from their side of the 50-yard line and ran into it into the in zone to go up 27-0. The Hawks scored three more times to win the game 48-0 to get their first shutout of the season and their first region title in just their second season as a school. Quite an achievement!

The Hawks had all the highlights for this game as Cade Mahoney went 12 for 16 for 224 yards and three touchdowns while Kaleb Carver had five receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Braxton Lamberth had 19 carries for 138 yards and one touchdown.

Lamberth, the Hawks running back said;” It’s great. We have been working all year long you know, and I am super proud of these guys, and I just don’t know how to explain it, it’s amazing.”

With the win, Green Hill stays undefeated in region play and (8-1) overall and will face Mt. Juliet next week on the road. They have clinched the Region Championship but there is a lot of pride on the line in their rival game next week.

Meanwhile, Station Camp (7-2) finishes up a tremendous regular season next week when it travels to Hunters Lane to wrap up the season.
