{"id":849,"date":"2021-08-23T11:10:31","date_gmt":"2021-08-23T16:10:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prepweekly.com\/?p=849"},"modified":"2021-08-23T11:10:34","modified_gmt":"2021-08-23T16:10:34","slug":"cpa-and-independence-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prepweekly.com\/?p=849","title":{"rendered":"CPA and Independence Game"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As the first game of the season begins, two teams are looking to get their first win.&nbsp; The game was close to start off, with both teams exchanging scores through the first half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the second half started, CPA come out firing on all cylinders scoring 21 unanswered points in the third quarter.&nbsp; Independence had no response for the Lions run game, scoring 4 touchdowns.&nbsp; Independence is handed their first loss of the season and at home.&nbsp; While CPA cruises to 1-0.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Eagles Quarterback Joseph Cummings went 11\/23 for 194 yards and one touchdown and two interceptions, while Jack Rummell had 5 receptions for 154 yards. The Lions, Langston Patterson had 11 carries for 94 yards and one touchdown.&nbsp; The Lions Quarterback Cade law went 6\/12 for 137 yards and two touchdowns<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CPA Quarterback Cade Law said, \u201cI am just so glad to be back out on to the field, I was in a boot for two months and didn\u2019t get to do anything over the summer.&nbsp; I am just so blessed to be back under these lights on a Friday night, there\u2019s not a better feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Independence\u2019s record is (0-1) as they lost on home turf and will be back next Friday against Lipscomb Academy while (1-0) CPA prepares for Brentwood Academy next Friday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the first game of the season begins, two teams are looking to get their first win.&nbsp; The game was close to start off, with both teams exchanging scores through the first half.
