As the first game of the season begins, two teams are looking to get their first win. The game was close to start off, with both teams exchanging scores through the first half.
Once the second half started, CPA come out firing on all cylinders scoring 21 unanswered points in the third quarter. Independence had no response for the Lions run game, scoring 4 touchdowns. Independence is handed their first loss of the season and at home. While CPA cruises to 1-0.
The Eagles Quarterback Joseph Cummings went 11/23 for 194 yards and one touchdown and two interceptions, while Jack Rummell had 5 receptions for 154 yards. The Lions, Langston Patterson had 11 carries for 94 yards and one touchdown. The Lions Quarterback Cade law went 6/12 for 137 yards and two touchdowns

Independence’s record is (0-1) as they lost on home turf and will be back next Friday against Lipscomb Academy while (1-0) CPA prepares for Brentwood Academy next Friday.
