The game of the year was played at Oakland High School on Friday.  If you were looking for a blowout game to watch, this game was the game to see.  From the start of the game, the Oakland Patriots scored on their first drive and didn’t let up.  The Patriots let the Rebels know whose house they were at by scoring 49 points.  In the middle of the fourth quarter, both teams substituted players to rest, and Maryville eventually scored.  It was already too late to make a comeback, but the Rebels didn’t want to go home on a shutout.

Maryville drove three hours back home, being blown out by the team they put out last season in the fourth round.  Oakland moves on to the State Championship against Brentwood next week at Tennessee Tech University.  Oakland had all the game highlights; Ian Schlacter was 6/6 on 89 yards passing, zero touchdowns.  James Jordan rushed for 161 on 27 carries and two touchdowns, while Isaiah Horton had five receptions for 78 yards.

Oakland coach Kevin Creasy said,” it’s going to be a hard week of preparation, I know Brentwood does a heck of a job, we got a lot of respect for Brentwood and their coaching staff, coach Crawford does a heck of a job over there.  To get to go to the state championship is awesome, I think it’s s great experience for our seniors.  I thought our guys played hard tonight and if we can just get one more week playing that hard, we got a chance.
