The regular season is now over, and teams prepare for the playoffs. It was the Regional Championship Game in Mt. Juliet; both teams came out prepared and ready to win. This game was turnover after turnover but, Hendersonville capitalized on two scores off those and MT. Juliet couldn’t. Just when the Golden Bears were driving downfield to score off an interception, Mt. Juliet Quarterback Stephen Swoner throws one of his own and gives the Commandos the ball back. On the first play of that drive, the Commandos hand the ball off to Ellis Ellis from 48 yards out, and he scores to seal the Regional Championship for Hendersonville. The Commandos stay undefeated in the district, and The Golden Bears are handed their second district loss, but both teams advance to the playoffs that start next week.
The Golden Bears Quarterback Stephen Swoner throws 6/14 for 65 yards and two interceptions while Conlin Hill had two receptions for 25 yards. The Commandos Ellis Ellis rushed six times for 128 yards and two touchdowns, including the final score to seal Hendersonville’s win.
MT. Juliet Quarterback Stephen Swoner said,” Coach told us they were the better team second half and they showed it and I played badly but we just have to work on that this week and get ready for the playoffs.
MT. Juliet is now (6-4) as they get ready for playoffs on the road next Friday while (7-3) Hendersonville prepares for their home game next Friday
