As the season comes down to the last couple games, this was a game that came down to who had the ball last.  It was senior night at Lipscomb Academy and with just under two minutes left in the game CPA got the ball back down six.  They drove down field into enemy territory when Cade Law threw an interception to seal the game for Lipscomb Academy.  The Mustangs took a knee and went home with a victory.  The Mustangs hand The Eagles their first loss of the season and advance to (7-2) and takes over first place in the region while CPA loses their first game and falls to (6-1).

The Mustangs Quarterback Luther Richeeson was 11/15 for 126 yards with one touchdown and zero Interceptions while Beau Dawson had 4 receptions for 40 yards.  Langston Patterson for the Eagles rushed nine times for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

CPA Quarterback Cade Law said, “We didn’t come out and execute like we needed to. the kickoff was big, they got some momentum the first play of the game.  Our offense didn’t execute like we needed to, defense didn’t either.  We got a lot to work on with how bad we played but it’s still a six-point game and hopefully we see them again in Cookeville.

Lipscomb is now (7-2) as they get ready for their game against Battle Ground Academy next Friday while (6-1). CPA prepares for their last game of the season against Franklin Road Academy next Friday.
