By Tim Bell

After doing Tennessee Prep Weekly for the last three years, I have been reminded of somethings that continue to happen year in and year out.
1st: Is the reminder that these high school players are young men ages 14 to 18 and you never know what is going on inside their heads or even in their worlds at home, so it is very hard to know how they will perform especially when the stage gets bigger as they move forward in the tournament.
2nd: As I look back on the years I coached, I know that it was the players and their focus and drive that made the biggest difference in how we played and the success we had.  As a coach being able to have team leaders that set the tone for game night was and is a true key to success.  My job as a coach was to give the team a chance to win by what we ran on offense or defense but ultimately it is their heart and desire that gets us there.
3rd: It’s not always the best team on paper or the stat line that wins. A lot of the time it is the team that is focused on the right things and the ones who gives their all that comes out on top. There are so many things that play into the championship run, a play here, a turnover there, can sometimes change the game in an instant and getting lucky every now and then doesn’t hurt.

So here are my 2022 Boys Championship predictions

D2A.      FACS
D2AA.   Christian Brothers
D1A.       Middleton
D1AA.    East Nashville
D1AAA.  Greenville
D1AAAA.   Bartlett
