Hampton vs Westview
The 2A State Championship Title was on the line in Chattanooga Saturday. Both teams, Hampton and Westview were looking for their first Title and both teams love to run the football. Hampton came out on their first drive and scored. Westview answered right back on their first drive. The chargers get the ball back before the quarter ends and score once more to take the lead. The Bulldogs in the second quarter score with about three minutes left in the half and tie the game up. Westview scores two more times before the end of the half to take a 14-point lead.
On their first position of the second half, Alabama commitment Westview quarterback Ty Simpson scores with a one-yard run. The Chargers never let up on the bulldogs. Hampton was held scoreless the remainder of the game while Westview added three more times to close out the game. The defense for Westview jumped in on the action intercepting the ball thrown by Javion Goins in the Third Quarter. Westview wins their first Football Championship for their program in school history.
Westview’s Quarterback Ty Simpson said,” I’m speechless. You know these guys worked really hard and it all paid off. These guys bought in and these coaches bought in and it and it end the way we wanted it to end.
Ty Simpson was the star and MVP for this game, he threw for 99 yards and three touchdowns and he carried the ball 10 times for 181 yards and two scores.
