Division I
Class 1A: Clay County (10-1) at South Pittsburg (7-2); Clay County has had a tremendous year but going into South Pittsburg and coming out with a win is another story. South Pitt’s tough schedule will pay off Friday night with a trip the quarterfinals. South Pittsburg wins 26-20.
Class 2A: Marion County (9-1) at Watertown (8-3); This game features two teams with some huge wins under their belts. Can Marion County slow down Watertown’s high-flying offense? Probably not. Watertown wins 28-21.
Class 3A: Waverly (9-1)) at East Nashville (7-4): Cinderella Waverly tries to continue their magical season while East Nashville has shrugged off it’s slow start to win it’s region. Look for a great crowd tonight as we expect the slipper to fit once again. Waverly wins 27-26.
Class 4A; Pearl Cohn (10-1) at Hardin County (10-0); This will be a barn burner. Both of these teams are in our Elite Eight rankings in their respective geographical area. Gitta take the home team. Hardin County wins a close one 32-30.
Class 5A: McMinn County (8-3) at Powell (9-2); A battle of two East Tennessee powerhouses. Powell has played great competition this year, so we give them the edge. Powell wins 35-24.
Class 6A: Riverdale (10-1) at Lebanon (10-1): Get ready for a dogfight. Two of the very best defenses in the state will match up in Lebanon. Look for a lowing scoring game going right down to the wire. Lebanon has shown a more productive offense, so our pick is Lebanon, 17-14.
Division II
Class 1A: Kings Academy (9-2) at USJ (8-3); These teams can score in bunches. Look for the home team, USJ to advance. They win. 35-32.
Class 2A: CAK (8-2) at CPA (9-2); CAK has played a very tough schedule this year, but CPA is loaded again this year and looking for a second straight state championship. CPA 38-CAK 30.
Class 3A: Baylor (7-4) at MBA (8-3); In the most competitive Division in Tennessee High School football, both teams have been in some great battles. Look for Baylor to forge out a hard-fought win, 28-24.
